Four schools from the province of Granada (IES Fray Luis, IES Padre Manjón, CEIP Atalaya (Atarfe) and CEIP Jabalcón (Baza)) took part in the first phase of this project and we hope that in the future other schools will be getting involved, not only from Granada but also from other provinces in Andalusia. Representatives of the 1599 students and 103 teachers involved in the ‘Feel and experience the Alhambra’ initiative took part in this meeting in which they were informed about the different lines of work being explored by the four schools involved. They were joined by the Director of the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife, María del Mar Villafranca, and by the Director-General of Educational Innovation and Teacher Training of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Pedro Benzal, who stated that this project “benefits us all. We are convinced that the experience will leave its mark and will soon become a point of reference. ‘Feel and experience the Alhambra’ will enable students to assimilate the heritage experience”.
The ‘Feel and experience the Alhambra’ project encourages educational innovation, research and the dissemination of good teaching practice. To this end it has the necessary resources to enhance the exchange of educational experiences, teamwork, the creation of professional networks and the development of innovative methodologies.
