The council of the Alhambra and the Generalife organize biscuit decoration workshops and story-telling sessions together with the Alhambra Bookshop

Another year on, children will be the centre of attention at the Alhambra bookshop in Calle Reyes Católicos, 40, Granada. This morning the Director of the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife, María del Mar Villafranca, presented the activities which the Monument will be organizing during the Christmas holidays so that boys and girls can have fun “en famille” and learn more about the palace city. 
On 23rd and 29th December at 10:30 a.m. in the Casas de la Mimbre, in the Paseo del Generalife s/n, there will be a workshop on decorating biscuits with Alhambra-related motifs and Christmassy designs aimed at the whole family.
Those interested in taking part in this free activity, which will be organized by Marga Núñez, designer of the Alhambra Biscuits, must reserve a place by phone at 958 22 78 46, as only a limited number of places are available. “We began selling these butter biscuits inspired by some of the best-known decorative features of the Alhambra a few months ago, and they have so far been very successful. Baketecture is a new concept that combines the best of baking and architecture” Villafranca explained.
Various story-telling sessions have also been organized for Saturdays 13th, 20th and 27th December and 3rd January at 12:00h. Entrance will be free until all the places are taken.
At the presentation, María del Mar Villafranca took the opportunity to showcase the new shop window that will be fronting the Bookshop during the Christmas period, and which has been designed by two young students from Granada, Patricia Domenech and Sergio Reyes. She also presented the new collection of “gifts with art. I am sure that people will be surprised to receive a present that bears the seal of the Alhambra. We recommend you all to be ‘artful’ when choosing your gifts for friends and family this Christmas”.
