The President of the Regional Government of Andalusia makes her official Christmas speech from the Alhambra
The President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Susana Díaz, recorded her traditional official Christmas message in the Court of the Lions. The message will be broadcast on Canal Sur Radio and Television at 21:00 hrs on 30th December.
On 31st December this year to round up the events organized to commemorate the Millennium of the Foundation of the Kingdom of Granada, the Andalusia Regional Radio and Television Station will be offering an unprecedented display of technical resources in a special night of programmes from Granada to celebrate New Year’s Eve and welcome in 2014, a very important year for the Station which will be celebrating 25 years broadcasting to Andalusia. The traditional chiming of the clock at twelve o’clock to welcome in the New Year will go out live from the Plaza del Carmen in Granada and will be presented by the journalists Carolina Martín and Fernando Díaz de la Guardia, both from Granada.
All the latest HD digital recording techniques will be used in the making of this programme including aerial images obtained by a drone which takes high quality pictures on both interior and exterior flights. The aim is to show off Granada as the beautiful, romantic and evocative city it is.
From 10.00 p.m. on the last night of 2013, the flamenco singer Marina Heredia and the journalist Fernando Díaz de la Guardia will invite everyone in Andalusia to take a stroll through the most attractive, most emblematic corners of the city as a curtain-raiser to a night that will reach a crescendo with a grand gala, in which over 40 Andalusian artists will be taking part. There will also be footage from the Canal Sur TV archives providing a documentary account of almost 25 years of history of the station.
Fernando Díaz de la Guardia and Marina Heredia will also invite viewers to discover the Alhambra at night, from the Court of Lions which will be illuminated especially for the occasion, to the Hall of the Two Sisters with hitherto unseen images of the Palace.
