The Alhambra celebrates World Heritage Day with free admission to the Alcazaba, the Torre de la Vela and educational workshops for children

The Alhambra is celebrating World Heritage Day, next Saturday 16th November with a full programme of activities, featuring the opening of various spaces not normally open to the public. The Alcazaba, the inside of the Torre de la Vela and the Camino de Ronda will be open throughout the day from 08:30h to 18:00h and admission will be free.
Those interested in taking part in this free activity can book a ticket in advance from tomorrow, Tuesday 12th November, at the Offices in the Corral del Carbón, Calle Mariana Pineda s/n, Granada, or at the Alhambra Bookshop in the Calle Reyes Católicos, nº 40, Granada. There is a maximum of 5 tickets per person.
On Saturday from 09:00h to 18:00h it will also be possible to visit the Bañuelo Arabic Baths, the Horno de Oro Moorish House and the Corral del Carbón, for which admission will be free for all those who would like to find out more about other historical buildings belonging to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, the management of which has recently been transferred to the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife.
Two special free activities have also been planned for all the youngsters among us. The first activity on Saturday 16th November from 12:00h is an educational workshop entitled ‘Adivina la Alhambra’, with over forty riddles presented in a Kamishibai, a traditional paper theatre which originated in the Buddhist temples of Japan. The second event will be held in the afternoon from 16:00h to 17:00h, at the Alhambra Bookshop, located inside the Palace of Charles V and will consist of a story-telling show entitled “The legend of the Arabic Astrologer”. The show, which is directed by Antonieta Bernardino, is aimed at children of between 3 and 8 years old, and will last 90 minutes.
