The Alhambra receives an award from the Albayzín Centre for its commitment to heritage and the arts and crafts.
The Council of the Alhambra and Generalife has received an award from the Albayzín Centre for its “commitment to heritage and the arts and crafts” in this the seventh edition of the awards. Other prizewinners included Alberto Domínguez Blanco (Restauración de Monumentos SL) in the category of Heritage Conservation and Restoration; Taraceas Beas, in the category of Traditional Crafts; Alfarería Tito, in the category of Craftsmanship in Glass and Ceramics, and José Angel Chacón Tenllado, in the category of Manufacture and Conservation of Musical Instruments.
In a ceremony held in the Albayzín Centre building in the Placeta de la Concepción, there was a speech by the Delegate of Education, Culture and Sports and President of the Centre, Ana Gámez, which was followed by a review of the professional careers of the different prize winners.
Representing the Alhambra was the architect conservator of the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife, Francisco Lamolda, who received the prize from the Government Delegate of the Regional Government of Andalusia in Granada, Sandra García.
