The night-visits to the Gardens and the Palace of the Generalife began on 15th March. Those seeking a unique experience can visit the Generalife from Tuesday to Saturday from 22:00 to 23:30. The visit begins at the Entrance Building to the Generalife and after strolling down the Cypress Walk, visitors enter the New Gardens from which they have truly amazing panoramic views of Granada and of the palace city of the Alhambra.
On their way through the gardens, the visitors will enjoy the constant murmur of water, best expressed in the Court of the Water-Channel, a rectangular courtyard with flower-beds on both sides and in the centre a long channel over which two rows of fountains play.
The Generalife, built by Muhammad II at the end of the 13th Century is surrounded by vegetable gardens in which traditional agricultural methods handed down from one generation to the next are still used to work the land.
