Over 40 executives from Granada’s catering and accommodation sector have signed an agreement to help promote the show Federico according to Lorca, directed by choreographer and flamenco dancer Eva Yerbabuena, who also plays the lead role. The show runs from 20 July until 27 August, Monday to Saturday, at 10.00 pm, as the centrepiece of the 10th edition of the Lorca and Granada in the Generalife Gardens programme. It is hoped that the agreement will encourage more tourists to stay overnight in the city and province.
This morning, María José Sánchez, government representative in Granada, chaired a meeting between Gerardo Arenas, chairman of Granada’s Association of Accommodation Providers, Rafael Píñar, secretary of the Association of Tourist Accommodation Providers of Granada and Province, María del Mar Villafranca, general director of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, and Pedro Benzal, government of Andalusia cultural delegate in Granada, with regard to the implementation of the terms of the agreement, under which guests staying at tourist establishments in Granada city and province will be offered a special preferential service for the show. Tickets can be booked directly by hotels and guesthouses at the coordination office in the Teatro Alhambra (56, calle Molinos).
Today is also the last day for theatre-goers to take advantage of the advance sale discount for tickets. Federico according to Lorca is co-produced by Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife and Eva Yerbabuena Ballet Flamenco, and has sold over 17,000 tickets to date. The 10th edition of the Lorca and Granada in the Generalife Gardens programme offers a range of new features, including a combined ticket for the show and an evening visit to the Generalife Palace and Gardens.
Tickets go on sale at €30. However, other pricing options include a 2×1 deal on Mondays, and PAG has reserved a daily quota of combined tickets for show goers interested in the evening visit, with a special €5 supplement.
Evening visits take place from 20:30 to 22.00, when the show starts. The tour covers some of the most emblematic areas of the Generalife site, at a magical time of evening, and there will also be a bar service to make the visit more enjoyable.
Tickets can be bought from El Corte Inglés and Hipercor, the Generalife ticket offices, and during July also from Isabel la Católica theatre ticket office, by phone on (+34) 902400222 or through www.elcorteingles.es.
