This morning, María del Mar Villafranca, general director of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife (PAG), attended a children’s poetry workshop along with Salvadorean poet Jorge Galán, as part of the activities scheduled for the 8th International Poetry Festival.
The workshop was held at Carmen de Bellavista, Paseo del Generalife 4, the first time that the garden, aggregated to the Alhambra’s property in December 2005, has been used for cultural activities.
Speaking to pupils from Fray Luis de Granada secondary school, the Salvadorean National Literature laureate and one of Latin America’s most important writers of children’s literature explained how he became a writer and how he has found inspiration in poetry.
