The programme of expert-guided tours organised by the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife (PAG) continues throughout the second weekend in May with a cycle dedicated to recovered spaces and walking routes centred on the Nasrid site. The programme, which runs until June, takes place on Fridays, from 4.00 pm onwards, and on Saturdays and Sundays at 10.00 am.
On Friday 6 May at 4.00 pm, Rafael de la Cruz, head of the PAG Department for Gardens and Forests, will explain some of the peculiarities of the Alhambra’s cármenes (walled gardens) and other spaces. On Saturday, 7 May, at 10.00 am, architect Pedro Salmerón will outline the characteristics of the Silla del Moro, and on Sunday, 8 May, at 10.00 am, Victoria E. Chamorro, general secretary of the PAG, will analyse the important role of water in the construction of the Hispano-Islamic Alhambra, in collaboration with art historian María Cullel.
The Hidden Alhambra is the theme for the weekend of 13-15 May. La Alhambra: hidden nooks is the title of the talk to be given at 4.00 pm by María del Mar Villafranca, general director of the PAG, while on Saturday 14 May, at 10.00 am, Silla del Moro consultant Jesús Bermúdez will speak on Under the floor of the Alhambra, while The architecture of roofs is the theme chosen by PAG architecture curator, Francisco Lamolda, for Sunday at 10.00 am.
The Alhambra and its archaeological heritage, nature and music in the Nasrid site are some of the themes around which the remaining tours of the programme, set to finalise in June, will revolve.
