The Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife (PAG) introduces a new photo-print-system at the Alhambra Book & Gift Shop at 40, Reyes Católicos, in Granada. By means of this new system, visitors can just press a button and bring back home a historic or actual photograph of the Monument as a souvenir.
This “art à la carte” service has a choice of more than 300 photos, among which there are the ones taken by Jean Laurent and José García Ayola, or other professional photographers which have been or still are collaborators of the PAG, such as Alberto Caballero, Cristina García Zarza, Juan Hita Bueno y Miguel Ángel Molina.
Furthermore, those interested can print maps and engravings from the PAG archives, which are made available for the first time to the general public. With this initiative, the Alhambra is moving again towards the promotion of the documental heritage, ensuring hereby its access by the citizens.
It is a quick print-system and the visitor only has to choose the photo within the menu which is shown on the touch-screen. You can also choose different formats and finishes. The print-image will come out in the original size, surrounded by a white margin, which makes it easier to be framed, and if you like you can include a little text which identifies the photo.
This project is a collaboration between the PAG, Laie (general contractor of the Alhambra Book & Gift Shops), and La Museoteca S.L., who has already introduced this system at the Prado Museum and the Thyssen Museum of Madrid.
