Conservation and sustainable management were the main subjects of the third day of the course ‘El conjunto monumental de la Alhambra y el Generalife: 25 años de gestión autonómica’ (‘Monumental Complex of the Alhambra and Generalife: 25 years of independent management’), held during this week at the Palace of Charles V.
Francisco Lamolda, Head of the Conservation Department of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, and the architect Miguel Ángel Martín Céspedes analyzed the conservation methods and procedures carried out in the Monumental Complex of the Alhambra and Generalife.
On the other side, Rafael de la Cruz, Head of the Department of Gardens and Forests of the Monumental Complex, has demonstrated the Conservation methods and procedures used in forests, gardens and orchards of the monument.
Furthermore, Victoria Chamorro, Secretary-general of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, focused her lecture on the form of sustainable management which is being carried out in the Nasrid monument.
Restoration
During the afternoon session, Ramón Rubio, Head of Restoration of Plasterwork and Cerámics of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, and Elena Correa, Head of the Restoration Department of the Monument, guided separated special tours in which they showed the work carried out in each of their areas in the Alhambra complex.
