The composer Eduardo Paniagua and his quintet Musica Antigua will present the recent album La rosa de la Alhambra (“Rose of the Alhambra”), as a tribute concert to the North American writer Washington Irving, at the theatre Isabel la Católica, October 2. The tickets for the performance has gone on sale today, 8 € for orchestra and 6 € for gallery, to be purchased at the theatre´s ticket office.
This recital is part of the commemorative activities organized by the Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife on the occasion of the 150 anniversary of the death of Irving; for this reason Paniagua was commissioned by the autonomous body to compose the music for two legends written by Washington Irving in “Tales of the Alhambra”, like the “Three beautiful princesses” and the “Rose of the Alhambra”.
