The Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife offers to Granada residents free admission and guided tours on Sundays
The Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife starts a new edition of free guided tours for Granada residents, as part of the program Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife (Closer to the Alhambra). This activity, in collaboration with the Asociación Provincial de Guías de Turismo de Granada, takes place on Sundays in June, July, September and October from 18:00 on, and it has the purpose of spreading the cultural legacy of the Monument among the local population.
Those interested in participating in these tours can make a reservation at the offices in the Corral del Carbón – 9:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 21:00 – where they can get the tickets until 12:00 the same day as the tour. Every Sunday afternoon will be 3 groups of 30 persons who will take part in one of the scheduled routes. The three groups will have guided tours from 18:00 on, lasting ca. two hours. The rest of the visitors – when the groups for guided tours are complete – may freely visit the routes established for the general admission ticket.
The Nasrid Palaces, the Generalife, the Medina and the Alcazaba are some of the routes covered by these special visits, about which you can receive more information at Alcazaba. The June route will pass through the flora of the Partal and the Generalife; while that of July will pass through the classic Alhambra; in September it will be the Medina and in October the form and function of water through time and space in the Alhambra fortress.
Throughout the year, the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife has planned a program with activities for Granada residents, which allows the access to the Monument of all the residents in this city and province on Sundays from 14:00 on, after requesting the admission ticket at the offices in the Corral del Carbón.
