The director of the Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife, María del Mar Villafranca, presented, at the Palace of Charles V, the seminar about Contemporary Architecture Heritage. The ceremony relied on the presence of the general director of Architecture School of Granada, Juan Calatrava, as well as the directors of this course, the architects Antonio Jiménez Torrecillas and Federico Wulff, University of Granada.
From today until next Saturday, a group of renowed Italian and Spanish architects is going to discuss in the Alhambra about the patrimonial intervention and its historical context, and they are going to show their thoughts about the different methodologies used. The objective of this seminar is the active collaboration between public and lecturers. Through roundtables they will discuss and exchange experiences and methodologies.
The relation between heritage – contemporary will be approached showing in different scales: contemporary actions in the historical architectural heritage, recovery operations of historical contexts with new urban interventions and actions inside the new universe that the cultural landscapes constituted.
An additional objective of this meeting will be boost the channels of communication, cooperation and research between the School of Architecture of Granada and several research groups from other European universities.
