COMUNICACIÓN Y PRENSA
Federico García Lorca inevitably comes to mind in any discussion about “cante jondo” (deep song flamenco). The writer used this form of flamenco as a means of exploring the soul of Andalucía, enabling him to understand folk culture at its roots.
This book describes the collaboration between Lorca and another famous supporter of this ancient form of singing, Manuel de Falla. Their collaboration first bore fruit in the First Cante Jondo Competition held in Granada in 1922, and later in the “Poema del Cante Jondo”, a lyrical interpretation of a very private, dying world.
