Plataforma Representativa Estatal de Discapacidades Físicos (“State Representative Platform for Physically Disabled People”) hás launched Guía de Monumentos, musos y puntos de interés turístico Accesibles Para Todos (“Information guide on monuments, museums and sights of interest accessible to all”), with 167 Spanish monuments, museums and sights of interest that are totally accessible to the physically or sensory disabled or to people with other impairments, specially the Monumental Complex of the Alhambra and the Generalife.
The information guide contains an analysis of natural heritage sites, recreational parks, monuments and beaches, including churches, museums, recreational centres, wine cellars, miradores, tourism routes, convention centres and places in relation to the Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage.
The guide is committed to facilitate information about the sites to people with different impairments, as well as to serve as an example to the tourism business sector in terms of the access requirements the establishments ought to comply with.
The book is sponsored by Fundación Once and the Vodafone Foundation Spain. It was developed by a multidisciplinary team and disabled persons who visited ca. 200 sites to gather the information needed.
