The Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife has published W. Irving’s Alhambra. This material condenses most of the audiovisual and multimedia content of the exhibition Washington Irving and the Alhambra. 150th Anniversary (1859- 2009), held in the Palace of Charles V in the Alhambra (Granada) between October 2009 and February 2010.
The work contains several audiovisual presentations, being a special highlight Washington Irving on the throne of the Alhambra, directed by its scriptwriter, the journalist and writer Antonio Ramos Espejo. This is an audiovisual introduction to the exhibition. It shows the circumstances and motives surrounding Washington Irving’s visit to Granada.
The second work, Sunnyside: the traveller’s refuge was directed by the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife and produced by the filmmaker Karen Kellehe. This audiovisual combines fragments of an interview with Washington Irving III, one of Irving’s descendants, with views of the house as it is today. The Legacy of Washington Irving was directed by the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife and contains nine selected and narrated fragments from Tales of the Alhambra.
