COMUNICACIÓN Y PRENSA
The Alhambra. Place of the memory and the dialogue, puts the Nasrid monument as a fundamental scenario for the debate and the exchange between cultures and societies. The book edited by José Antonio González Alcantud and Abdellouahed Akmir gathers the interventions that were presented to the colloquium that, under the same name, took place in the Euroárabe Foundation of Granada, in 2004.
The experts emphasize in the archaeological, historical, architectural, artistic, anthropologic, literary, landscape and tourist vision of the monumental complex. Likewise, the chronological frame discussed is very wide: from the Nasrid origins, up to the romantic vision or the current tourist use, going through the transformations and the different visions that have arisen from the modern epoch of the monumental complex.
The principal of the Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife, María del Mar Villafranca, emphasizes that this “essential work possess the power of bringing visions closer and of raising new approaches. Also from another side of history, in the effort that this cultural heritage represents, that in a visionary way and in the 14th century, Ibn Jaldún realised”.
Published by the Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife, the Center for Andalusian Studies and Dialogue between Civilizations of Rabat, and the Comares publishing house this work has been written, in Arabic and Spanish, two languages that have been witnesses of this unique place that crowns the city of Granada.
