COMUNICACIÓN Y PRENSA
Thanks to a joint effort between Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, the Lázaro Galdiano Foundation and TF Editores, and to the support of the Ministry for Education, Culture and Sport, in the form of a grant for “revaluation, dissemination and protection projects for 2011”, the content network of Islamic textiles held in the Lázaro Galdiano Museum and the Museum of the Alhambra has become a reality.
The project, which aims to promote the understanding and promulgation of the Nasrid textiles held in the collections of the Museum of the Alhambra, the Lázaro Galdiano Museum and the Gómez-Moreno Institute of Granada’s Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation, encompasses a range of actions, including the publication of Silk brought to Light, a bilingual Spanish-French publication which analyses the origins and development of textile production and use in al-Andalus, and the cataloguing and classification of the Nasrid textiles in the three collections by experts in the subject.
