COMUNICACIÓN Y PRENSA
In the spring of 1982, La Alhambra, a virtual tour of the Alhambra and Generalife complex, directed by Eduardo Noé, with music by Ángel Arteaga, and written and narrated by Granadan poet Luis Rosales, premiered at the Madrasah of Granada. On the 100th anniversary of his birth in 1910, Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife (PAG) is proud to remember him in the form of a new edition of this video-book on DVD.
Rosales’ familiarity with the Alhambra during his childhood, echoes of which continually sound throughout his poetry, immerses us in his most personal experiences. The Alhambra, inspiration for so many artists, musicians and writers, ensnares Rosales us with the poetry of its walls – the “architecture of words”, as José Miguel Puerta Vílchez calls it, and in the sights, sounds and subtleties of the Nasrid palace Rosales encountered the perfect state of mind for poetic contemplation.
As it happens, Rosales was over 70 when he finally made his one last visit to the dream world of the Alhambra. As on many other occasions, the words of Rosales lead us through the “universe of the Alhambra”, a unique opportunity to be once more carried away by the calm of his voice, here the physical records of his words, to the Alhambra, always a key element in his concept of natural and artistic creation.
Finally, I would like to thank Luis Rosales Fouz, for keeping his father’s memory and his work alive, and for helping us to republish this work, in which the words and voice of Rosales once again seduce us with the charm and beauty of the Alhambra.
María del Mar Villafranca, general director, Patronato de Alhambra y Generalife.
