The volunteer-guided tours are scheduled for 27 and 28 December 2011 and 3 and 4 January 2012. During the 60-min-tours, starting at noon, Museum of the Alhambra volunteers will explain the most outstanding objects conserved in the Museum.
Those interested in knowing more details about the objects on display at the exhibition Owen Jones and the Alhambra – Islamic design: discovery and vision, held in the Granada Museum of Fine Arts temporary exhibition rooms in the Palace of Carlos V, are invited to join the free guided tours scheduled for the same days in the afternoon, from 5 to 6 pm.
The exhibition Owen Jones and the Alhambra was commissioned by University of Granada History of Architecture Professor, Juan Calatrava, in association with Victoria and Albert Museum curators Mariam Rosser-Owen and Abraham Thomas, based on a V&A exhibition project, and it aims to contribute not only to the study of Jones himself, but also to the understanding of the important role played by the Alhambra in the work of many contemporary artists and architects.
