The registration period is now open for those wishing to take part in the 2nd Edition of the Valparaiso Writers School
The registration period is now open for those wishing to take part in the 2nd Edition of the “Crear en Granada” (Creating in Granada) literary workshops, organized by the Valparaiso Writers’ School. From 30th June to 4th July, the Alhambra will be hosting these literary creation workshops in the Educational Area in the recently restored Casas de La Mimbre. Those interested in taking part in this event should apply by email to escuelaescritores@amgr.es or via the website escuelaescritores.amgr.es or on Facebook ww.facebook.com/escuelaescritoresgranada
In this the 2nd Edition some of Spain’s best known writers such as Santiago Posteguillo, Javier Sierra, José Luís Corral, María Amor Martín, Juan Gómez Jurado and José Calvo Poyato have been lined up to teach writing techniques and other tricks of the trade to those taking part in the course.
This year there will be two workshops instead of one, due to the huge demand for last year’s course and the number of places has been increased from 25 to 50. With this event, the Writers’ School is consolidating its position as a creative space in Andalusia and for next year there are plans to add other workshops, making room for other literary genres. The workshops planned for this edition will be tackling questions such as the different techniques in literary creation, the construction of a story and of the characters, the historical novel, mystery and the occult, keys to writing a bestseller, etc.
The Valparaiso Writers’ School was set up by the Ave María Foundation and enjoys the support of various institutions and companies such as Granada City Council, Granada Provincial Council, the Caja Granada Savings Bank, the Council of the Alhambra and the Generalife and El Corte Inglés, along with cultural associations such as Granada Histórica.
