Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, the Minister of Justice, paid a visit to the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra, since he was interested in seeing and contemplating the Courtyard of the Lions after its restoration and reopening to the public. The visit set out from the Palace of Charles V, where the minister signed the Book of Honour, and from there he continued to the Palace of Charles V, Palace of Charles V and the Courtyard of the Lions.
The minister was accompanied by Eduardo Torres-Dulce, Director of Public Prosecutions and Jesús García Calderón, Chief Prosecutor of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia. Ruiz-Gallardón was “impressed” by the state of conservation of the Monument and showed great curiosity in knowing further details about the restoration of the Lions and the fountain, issues which were explained to him by Francisco Lamolda, architect-curator of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, and Victoria E. Chamorro, the general secretary.
The Minister of Justice visited the Alhambra prior to presiding the event in tribute to Luis Portero, the Chief Prosecutor of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA), who died at the hands of terrorists ten years ago.
