The Council of the Alhambra y Generalife launches its new “Dehesa del GeneralifeTM” Extra Virgin Olive Oil with certified organic quality.

This year the olive oil produced at the Alhambra obtained the organic quality certificate issued by Agrocolor and the CAAE (certification bodies) for the first time. We have been working in the olive groves in this way for some years now and the olive mill where the oil is manufactured has also implemented the relevant procedures and requirements.  
As a result from this year on all our oils will be organic. Our first commercial step to mark this achievement has been to produce 1,776 250ml bottles and 888 500ml bottles of organic oil. The bottles are made of the same dark glass used in 2013, but now also have a label certifying the oil’s new organic status.
From now on and gradually as stocks of the other two presentation formats the Council has on sale (the Miniature 50ml bottle of “Liquid Gold from the Alhambra” and the now classic 500ml can) are sold out, these formats will also be used for organic oil and will have the relevant labels to this effect.
All our oils can be purchased at the official shops that the Alhambra has along the route of the public visit to the Monument, at our online store www.alhambratienda.es and in other specialized outlets in the city of Granada.
