This morning the Director of the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife, María del Mar Villafranca, welcomed the President of the Association of Arab Diplomatic Ladies, Rola AL-Ghrair, wife of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Spain, before she began a visit to the Nasrid monument accompanied by a delegation of women from her association.
On their tour of the Alhambra, the ladies visited various spaces once inhabited by women from the Nasrid court and said they were amazed at the state of conservation of the Palaces. “We were very keen to organize a trip to Granada to visit the beautiful Alhambra”, said Rola AL-Ghrair.
The Association of Arab Diplomatic Ladies was created in 2007 and its objectives include “acknowledging the essential role played by Arab women in social and economic development, and strengthening the understanding between the Arab and Spanish cultures so as to enhance positive and active collaboration between the two”.
