The Council of the Alhambra and Generalife is today launching the app version of the Official Guide to the Alhambra, a complete application for iPhone and Android smartphones which will greatly enhance the users’ experience if they are preparing their visit to the Alhambra or if they just want to find out more about it.
The app was presented this morning by María del Mar Villafranca, the Director of the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife, and Tito Ferreira, the President of TF&Interactiva. According to Villafranca the app will “bring us closer to new virtual audiences. The Alhambra is embracing the challenges of the 21st Century and wants to be at the vanguard of new technology”.
The app can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play and Amazon Apps from today, 24 July, and costs just 1.79 Euros. It is now on sale in Spanish and English and in future applications will also be available in French, Italian and German.
The Official Guide to the Alhambra has been jointly published and developed by Tf&Interactiva and is the only official application approved by the Council of the Alhambra. The different chapters contain a total of 211 images and the contents are based on the original guide in print format, offering not only a comprehensive history of the Monument but also various predetermined routes, a diary, the possibility of making notes, a map with the geo-location and other general information (timetables, weather conditions, admission…) among other functions. The application is easily accessible with a clear, simple interface, a highly visual combination of colours and contrasts that makes it easy to read and understand, and the possibility of changing the font size to enable each person to view the contents in a clear, personalized way.
