The Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife has renewed its shops located within the Alhambra enclosure (at the Palace of Charles V, with 50 m2, and the sub-post office, with 22 m2) and increased the cultural offer with two new book shops: one at the Alhambra Entrance Pavilion, with 127 m2, and the other in the city centre of Granada, on Calle Recogidas, nº. 40, with over 114 m2. The last one also serves as information point about the activities offered in the Alhambra, whereby it will contribute to the cultural promotion of knowledge of the heritage of the Alhambra.
This morning, María del Mar Villafranca, Director of the independent managing body, accompanied by representatives of public and business institutions of the city, has inaugurated the new venue in Granada, where will be available all literary novelties and specialized works about the Alhambra as the central topic. People can also purchase and collect the admission tickets to the site issued by Servicaixa vending machines located at the venue. Furthermore, people can obtain the official maps and leaflets of the different programmes and activities to take place at the site.
14 new jobs have been added by this initiative of the Patronato de la Alhambra to 13 existing in the Alhambra Gift & Book Shops (with 25 shop assistants, 1 stock manager and 1 shop manager)
