The Council of the Alhambra and Generalife is starting a new edition of free guided visits for people from Granada every Sunday from 6 p.m. in June, July, September and October. This initiative is the result of an agreement with the Association of Tourist Guides of the Province of Granada and is part of the La Alhambra más cerca (The Alhambra closer) programme, which also offers local residents, who book in advance, the chance to visit the Monument free of charge every Sunday.
Those interested in taking part must reserve a place in advance at the offices in the Corral del Carbón, in Calle Mariana Pineda s/n, Granada, as a maximum of 90 places are available which will be divided into three groups of 30. In June the route will be taking in the plants and flowers of the Partal and the Generalife; while in July visitors will enjoy the Classical Alhambra; in September the Medina and in October ‘The form and function of water through time and space in the fortress of the Alhambra’.
