Paulino Plata, Government of Andalusia minister for Culture, and María del Mar Villafranca, general director of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife (PAG), attended the opening day of the 30th edition of the Granada Book Fair, held this year over 6 – 15 May, where Villafranca was proud to show Plata the newest books on show at the Alhambra stand.
On May 6, the opening day of the Fair, María del Mar Villafranca, on behalf of the PAG, and Jerónimo Páez, on behalf of Almed publishers, launched American writer Robert Irwin’s book, La Alhambra. The launch, held at the Conference Hall of the Palace of Carlos V, was attended by the author himself.
On 12 May journalist Manuel Mateo Pérez chaired a round table discussion on The Monument, its History and its Literature at the Casa de los Tiros Museum, with historian Cristina Viñes, art historian Pedro Galera, architect Pedro Salmerón and María del Mar Villafranca.
And on 14 May, Fuente de las Batallas was the venue for a story-telling session ‘El trovador de la Alhambra’, aimed at children aged 3–10.
