More than 350,000 people have visited the exhibition on the restoration of the Fountain of the Lions
The exhibition Fountain of the Lions. Methodology of an intervention, held in the Crypt of the Palace of Charles V since 27th July, 2012, has been visited by 351,893 people up until last Sunday, the closing date. These are the figures provided by the Department of Sustainability of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife. The highest percentage of visitors has been the Spanish tourists, 43.22%, followed by tourists from the European Union. There were 29,946 Granada visitors, reaching the figure of 8.51% of the total.
The Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife installed this informative exhibition last summer in order to give detailed explanations of the interventions recently carried out. It showed documentary videos about the most important actions achieved in this courtyard.
After ten years of restoration work, and thanks to this exhibition, citizens have been able to enjoy and appreciate better the aesthetic values of the sculptures of the lions and the Nasrid fountain that once more has flowing water.
