More than 171,00 people have visited the exhibition “Light on paper” by Jean Laurent in the Alhambra
The exhibition Light on paper by Jean Laurent, inaugurated on October 5th in the Chapel of the Palace of Charles V, has been visited by 171,555 people, as of the closing date last March 23rd. According to the data provided by of the Unit of Analysis of the Council of the Alhambra and the Generalife, 70% of the tourists have shown “a very high” degree of satisfaction after visiting to the photographic exhibit.
By months, the study indicates that October has received the largest number of visitors (36,831), followed by November (30,359) and December (30,588). As far as the origin of the visitors to the exhibition, the report indicates that 93,289 are Spanish, 50,399 belong to the European Union and 27,867 from the rest of the world.
The exhibit Light on paper, whose organizers have been professor of Contemporary History Dr. Javier Piñar and architect Carlos Sánchez, has consisted of more than 400 images and it has been a privileged occasion to deepen in the knowledge of the work of this important photographer who has provided with his work one of the best representations of the city and its main monument in the 19th century.
The exhibition, whose design has been made by architect Juan Pablo Rodriguez Frade, has shown, for the first time, Laurent’s photographs recently purchased by the Council of the Alhambra and the Generalife from the Parisian workshop of the photographer who has provided more than thirty unpublished and not catalogued images until now from his production.
