Former General-secretary of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, visits the Alhambra this morning accompanied by his wife.

Former General-Secretary of the United Nations and Nobel prize for peace, Kofi Annan, and his wife Nane Lagergren is in private visit to the Alhambra this morning. The director of the Council of the Alhambra and the Generalife, María del Mar Villafranca, has played host to the Annans, and has given them the book “Cuaderno de la Alhambra”, with drawings by Miguel Rodriguez Acosta and texts by Antonio Muñoz Molina, and a silk scarf inspired by the nazari tile patterns.
During their visit, the Annans have been open and friendly after being recognized by the hundreds of tourists visiting this morning the Monument, and who approached them with the intention to shake hands or to have pictures taken with this charismatic figure. One of the funniest moments of the day took place when a group of students approached Kofi Annan to have a picture taken with him.
