This afternoon, Paulino Plata, Regional Minister of Culture of the Autonomous Government of Andalusia, has accompanied the Andalusian film actor Antonio Banderas during his visit to the Alhambra, together with the Tunisian producer Tarak Ben Ammar, in order to find locations for the film Boabdil.
The tour was guided by María del Mar Villafranca, Director-General of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, and also accompanied by staff members of Kandor Graphics. They went to the Mexuar, the Oratory, the Golden Room, the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife and the throne room Salón de Embajadores, and then they visited the Exhibition ‘Lions: Restoration of a symbol’, where they contemplated unique objects of Nasrid art on site. Banderas has been visibly impressed by the rich decoration of the lions from the Alhambra’s most emblematic court.
The actor from Malaga arrived to Granada yesterday evening and slept at the Parador de San Francisco, together with the Tunesian producer team who have accompanied him in his tour through the Alhambra, in which they could not miss the ‘Lions: Restoration of a symbol’ and the Museum of the Alhambra in their mission to reconstruct the Alhambra in times of Boabdil.
