This morning, María del Mar Villafranca, Director of the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, Rogelio Castillo, CEO of Cervezas Alhambra, as well as Francisco Cuenca, Area Director in Granada of the Innovation Ministry of the Andalusian Autonomous Government, handed over the new map of the Alhambra to the tourist who were entering the Monumental Complex. This new map has been published thanks to the collaboration agreement between the independent managing body of the Alhambra and Cervezas Alhambra. Both bodies have renewed a historic sponsorship initiative in favour of the Monument, which amounts 60,000 Euro.
Two million copies of this new map have been published, with an attractive design and with very useful information on the tour. This information contains explanations about the most representative areas, a chronological line with the key dates of the history of the site and information on the services provided (book shop, audio guides, toilets, etc.) as well as activities offered within the complex (museums, area of the month, Museum piece of the month, etc.). In addition to that, the map provides information concerning the site opening hours, ticket types, tips for planning the visit and compulsory visitor policies that are governing within the complex.
The map features illustrations by the artist from Granada Joaquín López Cruces and the graphic design by Jesús Moreno & Asociados, it is totally free and offered in Spanish and English. French, German and Italian versions are envisaged for the future.
Tourist will find this new map of the Alhambra at the information points of the Monument, as well as in the Alhambra book shop, located in the Granada city centre (at 40 Avenida Reyes Católicos).
The sponsorship of the map shows that the brand Alhambra encompasses its own specific identity, surpassing heritage. It represents prestige, quality and development. This is supported by the fact that more and more companies from Granada decide to sponsor what is exemplary for Granada: its culture.
