A modern view of the Alhambra and the orientalism of Owen Jones, a talk in the Palace of Carlos V
A talk on English architect and designer Owen Jones (1809-1874), to be held in the Palace of Carlos V over 21-22 February next, will bring together important experts to analyse the work of the artist, considered a key figure in 19th century reform debates, in relation to the Alhambra and orientalism. Inscriptions are still open at www.ugr.es/~cm/accesos/gr1.html.
Under the title Owen Jones, the Alhambra and Orientalism, the talk will be the highpoint of the exhibition Owen Jones and the Alhambra: Islamic design, discovery and vision, running until 28 February next in the Museum of Fine Arts, located on the upper floor of the Palace of Carlos V.
The seminar will be held over 21-22 February 2012, in the Palace of Carlos V, where the exhibition Owen Jones and the Alhambra: Islamic design, discovery and vision is currently running.
