The Romantic Observation Point
Opening time: from 8.30am to 8.00pm. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Access: with the General Admission ticket to the Monumental Complex of the Alhambra.
Capacity: 30 people.
Period: 19th century, 1836.
At the top of the Water Staircase (Escalera del Agua), at the highest point of the Palace of the Generalife we find this small observation point built in 1836 by Don Jaime Traverso, land agent of the Generalife, to which some elements were later added. Of Neo-gothic style, it offers a real contrast with the rest of the Monument and, according to some authors, with the old remains of a Muslim oratory.
With exceptional views and due to its privileged location, it stands out of the complex of the Alhambra and the Generalife. From here visitors have unique views of the city of Granada and of the Monument.
