Nasrid Silk Cloth

This is a unique opportunity to enjoy this unusual piece of silk, in which the intensity of its colours and the beauty of its arabesque pattern are particularly striking.
This cloth is an example of the amazing quality achieved by textile workshops in a tradition established under the Nasrids in the Middle Ages and continued ever since.
Its lively colours speak volumes of the splendour of Hispano-Muslim art and the visual plasticity achieved by the craftsmen, bestowing an enormous sense of naturalism on this work.
This piece of cloth dates from the reign of Muhammad V. It is in a fine state of conservation, which allows us to analyse the decoration, technique and colour in greater depth.
We will be describing the ornamental importance of this piece, as well as its purpose, aimed at creating intimacy and comfort in the home.
This piece of fabric will take us on a journey through the splendour and grandeur of the Nasrid court.
