in the Alhambra

The Council of the Alhambra and Generalife, in collaboration with the International University of Andalusia, is organizing the “International Seminar on the capacity to receive and manage tourist flows in heritage areas” directed by Miguel Ángel Troitiño Vinuesa and Victoria E. Chamorro Martínez.

The main objective of this seminar is to create a space for reflection about tourism management of heritage assets on the basis of a high demand for visits. It offers a unique opportunity to discuss these subjects from a comparative perspective with contributions from international experts.

This debate is also viewed as a means of disseminating the technical know-how acquired and developed during recent years in the field we are dealing with and will be structured around two main themes:

1. Tourism load capacity and management of the public visit. An operative instrument, an instrument for review?
2. The Alhambra as a laboratory: load capacity and management of the public visit (practical sessions backed up with visits in situ). The idea is to explain how the public visit to the Alhambra is managed.
