Guided visits to the Museum of the Alhambra
The Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife starts a series of guided visits to the Museum of the Alhambra focused on special subjects. This free activity is scheduled for the first Sunday of every month, starting at 12:00 noon and aimed to deepen the knowledge about the culture of Islamic Iberia by the collections on display in the Museum.
The project has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Volunteer guides of the Museum of the Alhambra.
Now, during April, the Alhambra vases are the protagonists, whereas in May, visitors will learn more about the pieces of the everyday life, and in June, the volunteers will talk about the importance of water in the culture of Islamic Iberia.
During the summer months (July, August and September), the subject of the visits will be city planning, fashion, attiring and Nasrid textile as well as the influence of Ziryab in the culture of Islamic Iberia. Food (in October), scents (November) and coins in Islamic Iberia (December) will bring the 2010 visits to the Museum of the Alhambra with special subjects to a close.
