in the Alhambra

On the occasion of the exhibition at the Alhambra commemorating the Millennium of the Kingdom of Granada entitled "Art and Cultures of al-Andalus. The power of the Alhambra", the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife, the al-Andalus Legacy foundation and the Casa Árabe are organizing an international seminar and a series of complementary lectures which aim to present the achievements of al-Andalus between the 11th and 15th Centuries.
Different specialists will be analysing the evolution of the many forms of cultural expression in al-Andalus and the characteristics that enable us to collate and appreciate the great culture that blossomed in the Islamic West, without forgetting the rich legacy received from the Christian territories. The survival of this culture and of its symbolic values and identity will be the subject of scientific debate and a question of great interest and current relevance.
