The recent restoration of the pavilions in the Court of the Lions has thrown up some curious facts. For example, the ceiling of the West Pavilion has a diameter of 3.3 m and is made up of 669 rectangular pieces of wood, organized geometrically in circles with stars. The decoration is centred on an octagon in the top part, which has carved polychrome pieces.
